The VP gets a plane? All Chaney had was one of these. No wonder Chainey's so mad now!

Biden should be riding in the back of a pickup truck.  That way he's not cramped up with other people in a confined space.

Well if you ask me the VP shouldn't have much to complain about... he only flys in this thing...
C-32 AKA Air Force Two

I have pics of one of these birds at KYIP back in 1999 or 2000. Pre-winglet C-23 (B757-200). I forget who was in town...Don't think it was the VP though...

I think the "Air Force Two" callsign, just like "Air Force One", is only used when the VP is on-board. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that!

"Air Force One" is what ever aircraft the President is on. I've heard of shorter trips where the President used this version or the B737 variant they have. Strange to hear a B737 called "Air Force One"!!
See below:

Boeing C-40B BBJ (737-7CP) 01-0041 (cn 33080/1089):

Here is Boeing C-32A (757-2G4) 99-0003 (cn 29027/824), one of the C-32A's more commonly used as "Air Force Two":

And of course we all know Boeing VC-25A (747-2G4B) 82-8000 (cn 23824/679) seen landing in  Prague - Ruzyne (PRG / LKPR), as "Air Force One":

There is also another highly modified B747-200 in the fleet. Known as the "Airborne Command Post",  Boeing E-4B (747-200B)  75-0125 (cn 20949/257). It has been said, if need be, the Armed Forces could "run" an entire war form this aircraft. Note all the antennas on top, including the large dome over the upper deck. That is a satellite communications antenna:

And here is the Wiki page on the E4B. Lots of great info, but too much to type here! A pretty neat bird too!

Heres the nickname for the E-4
"The E-4 fleet was originally deployed in 1974, when it was termed National Emergency Airborne Command Post or NEACP (often pronounced "kneecap"). The aircraft was to provide a survivable platform to conduct war operations in the event of a nuclear attack. Early in the operations of the E-4, the media dubbed the aircraft as "the doomsday planes"." (WIKI)

Does anyone know of any other special use aircraft? (Military or Civilian)
I have heard of the New P-8 Posidon (Navy Special Ops/Multi mission aircraft)

Here its link:

The US Navy uses a modified DC-9-32CF for many diffrent uses. They call it the McDonnell Douglas C-9B "Skytrain II" (DC-9-32CF). The "CF" means it is a "Convertable Freighter". In the pic below, you can see the outline of the cargo door just aft of the first three cabin windows. These airplanes can be converted to all pax for troop movements, all cargo for special opps, or a combination pax/cargo setup.

The Royal Air Force uses several modified L-1011-385-3. They have several designations for the bird, depending on its role. Some are refuels, some are troop transports, some are VIP and other Government use.

Here is a refuel. Lockheed L-1011-385-3 TriStar C2 (500) ZE705 / 705 (cn 193Y-1188) of the 216 Sqn, Royal Air Force seen here in grey:

Here is a close-up look at the belly of Lockheed L-1011-385-3 TriStar KC1 (500) ZD948 (cn 193V-1157), and it's refueling equipment:

Here is another example, mainly used for troop transport, Lockheed L-1011-385-3 TriStar C2A (500) ZE706 (cn 193Y-1177) poses in all white.

Here is her interior(ZE706):

This aircraft served Pan Am in her early years(cn 193Y-1177)!  :-D

And here are a couple of civil uses of modified aircraft. I posted this a while ago. Heavy jets used for fire fighting. DC-10 and B747. Check out the vids! Pretty sweet!
