Does anyone have the audio from ATC in reference to the crash of the Meridian that the pilot jumped out of after declaring an emergency?

I was wondering the same thing, I live in Birmingham and am familiar with the area where he jumped.  Was he talking to Atlanta Center or BHM approach?

I don't believe that LiveATC carries the last frequency to have a two-way conversation with this aircraft.

you might be able to search online for some audio between the two fighter pilots and atc for the incident. saw a story with the two fighter pilots who engaged the plane on one of the wonderful media networks.

flightaware.com track log shows the flight starting off with atlanta center and then most of it with jacksonville center. I know that's not the most accurate function on that website, but it sounds reasonable.

The point at which he descends from FL200 down to 3800' (and presumably makes his infamous plunge) is with ATL Center

I can say 100 percent for sure that you are correct that the tracklogs on Flight Aware are not accurate with regards to what ATC component you talk with.

My flights to KEKY, I talk with ATL center, switch over to KBMH and the track log will not reflect anything.  Track line drops where my handoff to BMH approach begins. (see below)

On my return, I get transferred from Memphis Center and talk with KJAN approach and my tracklogs will only show the center frequency even though the trackline does show my track while I am under KJAN.  On the below flight, for the GPS approach I was with KJAN.

I was told by Flight Aware Staff members that BMH most likely marks me arrived, thus my tracking stops.  This does not  happen at KJAN.

ZTL sector 3 was working the aircraft when it all happened.  He claimed he was in severe turbulence then said his windshield was cracking and needed an emergency decent.

I am one of the guys who sits alert in New Orleans. We picked him up with WADS or Western Air Defense Sector and only have our own tapes between jets, WADS, and Penn approach. I believe Atlanta center called it in to WADS, who launched us.
