It is at Atlantic City's Bader Field (AIY).  It is not a Citation 2 as listed, but it is a Citation 525 CitationJet, reg OY-JET, attempting to land at the wrong airport.  They were supposed to fly into ACY but obviously didn't.  Jets are prohibited at AIY anyway.  Here's the NTSB's determination:  http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/brief2.asp?ev_id=20050526X00676&ntsbno=NYC05LA085&akey=1

While it was certainly the wrong airport for that aircraft, it was apparently the airport the pilot intended to land at.

No aircraft are allowed at AIY now.  It is NOTAMed as closed permanently.

That guys been nailed before with disciplanary action if i remember right. Then he lands with pretty strong tail wind at an airport that cant even take his plane.

wow that was interesting

wouldn't the pilot check runway on approach and or check with the ATC to make sure the runway was the right size for the jet and so would he have turned the engines off after he landed in the pond.

and who had the bright idea to put a pond right at the end of a runway  wink

If you read the entire NTSB report, it gets really interesting. Here's a guy, flying a C525 an a visual appch. Does a 360 before getting to the airport, does a flyby, on an upwind. Turns around a tries to land on a 2950ft runway with a 10kt tailwind. Doesn't touch down until a 1000' down the runway. Applies the brakes and locks them up and skids off the runway. Attached to the yoke is the airport chart that clearly states "No jet aircraft allowed". He is on an IFR flight plan, yet NOT IFR rated.          And he owns the airplane/sailboat.

A very fine example of having the resources to fly but no common sense. The village called and they want their idiot back.

I guess the pilot/owner had a sense of humor. Unfortunate they don't know how to fly and have a brand-spankin' new Sovereign.

Also, Bader field closed down almost a year and a half after this incident, in September 2006, FWIW.

Actually it is a Citation Jet 2, or CJ2 as they are called.(i fly this type ac)
  The runway was long enough for the landing had the pilot landed the CORRECT direction.  Had he read the approach plate he would stilll be working for the company and flying the CJ.
