Blue Angels radio calls recorded on Sunday October 11, 2009 at Fleet Week San Francisco, California.
Modified "flat show" due to weather.

Recording made 1/2 mile from show center, and edited for time.

Thank you for posting that. I was hoping someone would get the audio from fleet week. It's too bad they had to cancel due to fog. You happen to get any pictures?

I did take a few snapshots smiley
A United 747 did a slow flyby. That was pretty neat too.

I happened to have caught a 2 hour A&E Special hosted by Dennis Quaid from a few years back that gives one the "inside look' at the Blue Angels Team during the off-season training and show season as they travelled into the former Soviet Union for the first time. The video is AWESOME from inside the cockpits, that clearly shows what the Lead Solo, "Gucci" describes as "36 inches from canopy to the wingtip directly above", 36" is roughly the same distance your feet are from your head when seated, that is how "tight they tuck it in". It also has a good chunk of audio that describes and demonstrates the 'cadence' the Boss uses to keep everything on time which makes his voice sound unusual, and the rather 'enthusiastic' responses from the flight members, they are operating at 110% peak efficiency doing the most physically demanding flying there is (perhaps with the exception of the lady's that yank the Extra 300S's around the sky) and giving everything they have....it was one of the best documentaries I have ever seen about military aviation demo squadrons.

Here's a good example of the tight formation flying you mentioned:  http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Navy/McDonnell-Douglas-F-A-18A/1598175/M/

The boss always sounds sooo relaxed. Get a loop of a year's worth of airshows and put me to sleep Smiley
