Very Very Sad, they have announced the pilot is brain dead. 22 year old senior at Purdue. As being 23 myself and from the same state, I can closely relate.

This is a very sad story.  Those of us who fly feel this hard every time there is an aviation accident.  Most of the time it is just gut-wrenching, since we know it could happen to any one of us.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Chilling to hear.  Too bad his friend wasn't as lucky and passed away.  That 911 operator was AWESOME in keeping this young guy from panicking and was very good in helping him stay focused on finding help.

Hopefully he recovers and heals fast knowing he did all he could for his friend. RIP
