Piper Navajo Crash near KPWK on 28 Nov around 22:50 local.  The aircraft reported it was out of fuel.

Callsign - Lifeguard 773.  The audio occurs in the first ten minutes of the attached file.

My commute to work takes me within .5 mile of the crash site on Portwine Road in Riverwoods, IL.  At 05:30 this morning, emergency equipment was still on the scene and Portwine Road was still blocked to traffic.

I tried looking on PWK, but couldn't find it. Ran out of time to check the ORD frequencies. Thanks for the post. RIP to the three fatalities.

What's interesting is that he did stop for fuel in Jessup, GA as well... sad..

KPWK Tower was already closed and the Lifeguard flight didn't make it over to the tower frequency for Unicom broadcast.

realized that after looking. Sad, surprised how calm and focused the one pilot sounded. I'm surprised that departure gave them a freq. change and canceled IFR but never asked if they'd make the field once they called it in sight? (especially since they said they were out of fuel and coasting blind in the clouds....
