Continental 1618 emergency
« on: September 07, 2011, 10:54:14 AM »
Info from avHerald:
"A Continental Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration N18112 performing flight CO-1618 from Newark,NJ to Tampa,FL (USA), was climbing out of Newark when the crew reported hydraulic problems and levelled off at 16,000 feet. The crew subsequently diverted to New York's JFK Airport, burned off fuel and landed safely on runway 04L about one hour after departure. The aircraft needed to be towed off the runway.
A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration N34137 reached Tampa with a delay of 8:20 hours."

The clip combines many available feeds of the KEWR/KJFK area, mostly Kennedy tower and ground, in chronological order into one file. Unfortunately the more interesting feeds, KEWR Dep/Arr (125.850) and KJFK ARR (125.700) where the emergency was actually declared and the subsequent fuel dump took place are missing due to outage.
It starts with the takeoff at Newark and ends with the replacement flight being handed off to a NY departure freq not available as a feed.
(Two longer pauses in the file: first one indicates the missing feeds, second the time on ground at Kennedy waiting for the replacement; silent parts of the original feeds cut out)
