Very sorry for your loss.  Not sure whether we have audio but we'll be checking.

Currently listening to the flight now - normal takeoff from KADS, currently listening to regional departure.

http://archive-server.liveatc.net/kads/KADS-Twr-Oct-24-2011-1630Z.mp3

at about 7 minutes the tower asks other aircraft to check for the Cirrus - nothing mentioned other than "went NORDO"

My deepest sympathies on your loss.

Here's some bits I grabbed from the 1630Z KADS feeds.
Not sure what happened - but it sounds sad.

The clip contains relevant bits from the approach and tower feeds. He declared an emergency and asked for vectors. He was finally handed over to tower, but it seems never checked in with the tower. I may have missed his call though. The recording is heavily edited - I hoped I haven't mixed up anything. In any case, check the 1630Z feeds...

Flight track:

According to this news article, the pilot triggered the plane's rescue parachute - but it wouldn't fully deploy. A passenger sadly died. RIP. Pilot and another passenger survived.

Here's a clip from regional departure of the flight declaring emergency saying they are having engine troubles. Unfortunately I don't have time to hunt further into the recording to see if there's any further transmissions but here's what I have so far. Deepest sympathies to the family...

No further transmissions. Pilot states total engine loss on final @ about 600AGL. Put it down 100 feet before a high school Gym. Great skills on avoiding the school. Both Pilot and Right seat passenger pretty banged up but will live.

Thanks for all who edited the ATC transmissions. Great forum here!
