For those that missed it, listen to the archive for Oshkosh tower, 7/30/08 at 1800Z. Self explanatory.

Wasn't there another crash on Thursday?  I am trying to find the audio for that crash but haven't yet...

Sadly, there was a fatal landing accident Thursday involving a Lancair Legacy on short final for runway 27. The full audio is Oshkosh Tower 7/31 1430Z. Here is a somewhat edited version which starts at about 4 minutes into the archived file, removes some of the longer pauses, and also the entire last ~10 minutes. They get one runway back at 10:20 into this clip.

Both gentlemen that died in the crash were good friends of mine.  I want to thank you all and this site for the information.

Very sorry for your loss.  I know most pilots, myself included, cringe at any news like this.

cssna: My sympathies as well. I can relate very well with your feelings, having lost more than several close friends and co-workers that way. In my case, 3 funerals in 3 consecutive days was a bit much, but I wasn't long getting back in the air and moving on.
