The Emirates app/twr audio is rather routine, however the Choper audio -whew COVERAGE galore! There's brief discussion near the end of the chopper clip between an aircraft '2219' that in an earlier part - I deleted though - was low level at between 500 and 1,000ft away from airport. Military??

Canadian and U.S. fighter jets escorted an airplane arriving at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport Friday afternoon amid a terror scare involving suspicious packages on board UPS planes.

The plane was a commercial passenger jet identified as Emirates Flight 201. It touched down at 3:35 p.m. Several Port Authority and NYPD vehicles raced towards the Boeing 777-300 as it taxied off of the runway.

The plane was parked away from the terminal and passengers deboarded and were taken onto a shuttle bus.

The flight originated in Yemen and stopped in the United Arab Emirates, Fox News reported. Two Canadian CF-18s escorted it until the U.S. F-15s picked up the escort.

New York's FBI said in a statement there was "no known threat associated with this cargo or this flight," and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said the escort was prompted out of "an abundance of caution."

FBI spokesman Richard Kolko said no explosives were found aboard after a search, according to the AP.

Authorities on Friday were investigating whether suspicious packages containing explosive material and shipped aboard cargo planes from Yemen and bound for the U.S. were part of a broader terrorist plot.

The packages were intercepted in the United Arab Emirates and England. President Barack Obama called the incident a "credible terrorist threat."

Later Friday night, authorities at John F. Kennedy Airport investigated an arriving British Airways jetliner as a precaution in connection with the day's events, an airline spokeswoman said.

The plane, which arrived from London, landed at about 8 p.m. Police and other authorities then examined the jet, but it isn't clear if it was carrying any cargo from Yemen.
