No audio available, as they fly out of Lantana Airport (local Palm Beach County Park Airport)
the Pilot was an American Airlines Pilot who was due to retire in July.  Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Story by CBS12 News Web team

BOYNTON BEACH (CBS12) -- Two bodies have been recovered from the wreckage of a small plane in the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge.

The experimental, amateur-built plane went down around 1 p.m. Monday, according to a spokeswoman with the Federal Aviation Administration.  It flew out of Palm Beach County Park/Lantana Airport before crashing in the swamp.

The plane crashed about two miles north of the Lee Road boat ramp, near SR 7 and Lee Road, which is west of Boynton Beach.

Ron Bradshaw told CBS12 the plane went down near him. He tried to help but he couldn't get to the wreck because of the deep mud.

The victims have not been identified.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.

yes, and PBI doesn't cover Lantana Airport.  so any traffic would be on Lantana's Unicomm freq.

Updated story: American Airlines confirmed Wednesday that a man killed Monday in a plane crash west of Boynton Beach was a long-time pilot for the airline.

Lake Worth resident David Whitney, 64, had served as a pilot for American Airlines since 1979, according to a statement. Whitney and Jupiter resident William Mahn, 66, died after the single-engine plane crashed near a canal in the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge.

“We are deeply saddened by the death of David Whitney,” American Airlines chief pilot Brian Beach said in a statement. “He began flying with American Airlines in 1979. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues.”

I don't mean to be insensitive, but why should we keep dead strangers in our thoughts and prayers? They're not going to make a miraculous recovery. Also, there's really no point in posting this here, because it doesn't pertain and won't pertain to an aviation audio clip - which is the whole point of this forum, not just random miscellaneous aircraft mishaps.

The forum reminder prominently states:
Please remember that the ATC/Aviation Audio Clips forum was created to allow users to post and discuss ATC clips and videos.  Please refrain from creating threads without clips or videos, as they will be promptly moved to the Listener forum.

Thank you,

I think you misspoke:

This is the Aviation Accidents/Incidents forum.....
