An Alabama Air National Guard F-16 went off the runway during landing at Airventure in Oshkosh, Wis. today. Article in the local paper here:

http://www.thenorthwestern.com/article/20110728/OSH0107/110728090/Second-hard-landing-AirVenture-today

Nothing too exciting on the clip below, but the entire exchange with "Bama 11" and Oshkosh tower is there. I edited out the dead air.

Some more pictures.  Look's like the nose cone detached:

"Bamm11 glad to be here" and that feeling lasted about 20 seconds, then he wished he was ANYWHERE but there.

This incident caused the airport to shut down, delaying the start of the airshow.  They took the time out of the Rutan tribute flights that day.  Seriously bummed me out.  Went there to see the RAF airplanes flying, not weekend warriors crashing their multimillion dollar fighters.

What is odd is that not 3-4 hours later during the delayed airshow, an FJ-4 Fury overran the same runway and went right past the disabled F-16.  The FJ-4 Fury's gear did not collapse and it rolled to a stop in the grass.

I was near the Papa2 intersection for Rwy 36L-18R and the F16 had just touchdown just prior to the intersection near the pink dot.  The blue dot can be seen in the video.

The F16 pilot heard in the audio is the lead aircraft.

Bama 11 would be the lead, Bama 12 would be the second plane that crashed. FWIW.
