Superbowl XL scores being transmitted 'cross the NAS
« on: February 05, 2006, 09:55:19 PM »
Just caught one short clip of a ZBW controller advising of the current Superbowl score.  :o  I can't imagine how many facilities must be relaying the info to the pilots flying through the NAS.  ...too bad the MFD doesn't turn into a telelvision...*Sigh*

The second clip features my favorite ZBW controller working the DXR19 sector.  He's a real easy going, laid back, all-around nice controller.  He brings humor to the job and he makes it sound like a piece of cake!  He clears an aircraft direct to Groton, but he forgot that the Groton VOR changed to "GON."

ATC: "...it's Golf-Oscar-November now."
Pilot: "...direct to groton..."
ATC: "They changed it on me!"
Pilot: "Sorry about that, when did they do that?"
ATC: chuckles... "7-8 months ago!"
Pilot: "Well old habits die hard!"

Classic.  :)
