Tower at Moffett Federal Airfield discussing departure plans with Air Force 2 during Joe Biden's visit to Silicon Valley yesterday.   Moffett Tower/Ground is a new stream that came online yesterday.

I thought they used Executive 2, not AF2  :?.

If he was on a civilian aircraft it would be "Executive 2"......when he is on an Air Force plane it is "Air Force 2".  Same thing goes for the president.  Should he ever fly on a civilian plane it would be "Executive One".   

BTW I believe Nixon was the only sitting president to fly on a regularly scheduled commercial airline flight.  He flew IAD-LAX on a United DC10 in 1973.
