This afternoon Hawaiian Airlines ferry flight 8002 from HNL to OAK declared an emergency as they started their descent into OAK.  This was recorded off my Oakland Center sector 35 feed.

Nice Catch! I'd be interested to hear part two of this event...if no one beats me to it, I'll dig through the KOAK archives and see if I can piece together the arrival into KOAK a little later on today.

The rest of it was pretty non-eventful.  I listened to him live all the way in.  It started on 134.15 and was then handed off to Norcal Approach 133.95, then 135.65 for about a minute becasue the cut across the SFO 28 finals, then over to 125.350 and then finally tower and ground.  The conversation with Tower and Ground was interesting but I did not have the time to piece that one together.

To add some more info that you won't necessarily hear on the tapes. Tower was going to keep HAL on their frequency all the way to parking because in an emergency there it a lot going on and we don't even want to burden the pilot with something even as simple as a frequency change. HAL stopped on the taxiway though in front of the firehouse and then was switched over to ground until the rescue vehicles said he was OK to taxi. To add to the confusion, airport operations didn't do a very good job on planning where the aircraft was going to go. They told the controllers 3 different parking spots for him.

The rest of the day a bunch of pilots inbound to their gates kept asking about the B717 sitting in the middle of the ramp.  grin

I edited the approach, tower and ground comms. But when I try to upload it I keep getting an error, this happend before and I can't figure it out.  huh angry I think it has something to do with the bit rate or something.

(edit - hopefully the attached mp3 file works. Let me know)
