HF from the eighties
« on: September 30, 2009, 01:19:34 PM »
Hi all,

First of all let me introduce myself. My name is Bart Hoekstra, I live in the Netherlands. In the eighties and nineties I did a lot of HF listening, and made lots of recordings. At the moment I'm busy converting 45 hours of cassette tape to MP3. Attached is Airevac 10M3, a US Air Force C-9A Nightingale on the ground at Furstenfeldbruck ("Fursty") in Germany. It is running a phone patch to "2nd AME", the European airevac command post. The aircraft is snowed in and maybe has to make arrangements to remain over night.

Enjoy....

That was great, nice and clear. Do you remember what frequency that was on? I like when he said no de-ice fluid so they might sweep the wings off!

This brings back a few memories.  Fuerstenfeldbruck is not far from Munich.  This was relayed thru Crighton which is in the UK.
