C130 Practicing Paratroopers CYQG
« on: January 18, 2013, 11:51:07 AM »
Today there was a herc circling the airport dropped some ribbons to gauge wind speed and then dropped a couple paratroopers practicing whatever it is they do.  Was fun to listen to.  Check the CYQG archives for today.  I'm sure it'll have it maybe someone can record.  I watched it happen with my extra huge binoculars.

FYI start listening around 1530Z the audio is there.

I was able to see them lower the ramp and saw them prepping to jump with my high powered binocs from the ground while they were 4500ft.  Was fun to watch unfortunatly I only saw the 2 chutes for 30 secs as they passed behind a house out of my view.  Looked like they got blown around quite a bit at first.  Winds were pretty high.

I think the purpose of this website is when you hear some interesting conversation, you put Audacity into it and edit some and put it with your topic.

Now I have done some for you, just a bit of the transmissions, first the windcheck which was 9 knots from heading 190...

 8-)

The purpose of this website is up to individual interpretation. Use it how you'd like to, but let other people use it how they want!

I don't want to start a fight here, just trying to explane something though.

But it is correct about the "forum reminder".....

The problem with discussing audio here without posting the clip is that after 30 days, the archived audio files are purged.  So, you are left with a thread that discusses some audio that nobody can hear any more.  On the other hand, if you edit and post the audio with the thread, as suggested, then the thread is self-contained and everyone can listen to the edited clip long after the original file is purged from the archive.
