I'm foreigner student pilot. So, If controller talk too fast, I couldn't hear...

"<callsign> Centennial Tower: report north shore cherry creek straight downwind runway 17L" i assume "north shore cherry creek" is a VFR reporting point, and from there they will continue straight in to join the downwind for runway 17L.  From the sounds of how quickly he throws this out there, I would also assume the aircraft is one that is based there, they are familiar with, so he can just talk fast and the pilot will know what to expect.  If a controller speaks that quickly to you as a student pilot just ask them to slow down, the one in this recording is nearly unreadable he is so fast.

Gobosh 1277K, Centennial Tower, report north shore Cherry Creek straight in runway one seven left.

Cherry Creek Lake is on the sectional just north of the airport

(definitely doesn't say straight downwind, that's not a clearance I have ever heard issued, I don't know if it is even valid, and downwind would have the left or right specified)

yea straight in makes more sense...but i swear i hear downwind in there.  Either way some really fast speaking and mumbled talking by the controller.

Think of it this way, if you are north of the airport, which we know because you are reporting Cherry Creek, and landing on 17L, you are positioned for a straight in.
If you were landing 35, you would need a course reversal that from the north would start with a downwind but the controller would tell you which side you were expected to be on.

If anyone does not know how to see sectionals for anywhere, I hope it is okay to mention Skyvector.com.

I personally don't find it that hard to understand the controller.  I do agree he has a little verbal hiccup trying to say "in runway".

I find the best way to understand a controller when they are talking fast is to be prepared and know what they are going to say before they say it.  Especially with complicated taxi routes.  Also, ATC will usually speak more clear and slow to those with a foreign accent to avoid confusion.
