IFR Trip to Bessemer AL in IMC conditions

Video that every instrument rated pilot should be privileged to fly and I hope give that this video gives that extra incentive for the VFR pilot to get instrument rated.

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N1943L/history/20100318/1400Z/KMBO/KEKY

Segmented with various views of front, panel and wing and includes me talking thoughts out as icing had to be considered for this trip.  Freezing level was forecasted to be 6000.  Because of this, I delayed my departure by 2 hours to allow the temperature to rise.  My landing was the softest I have captured on video to date.

Jackson approach, Memphis Center, Meridian Approach, Atlanta Center and Birmingham approach in this video.

For those interested, I did also post a 2nd video  of the entire trip on my You Tube channel.   1.5 hour trip timelapsed / compressed down to 4 minutes but it's to music and no ATC, thus me not posting a link here.

I can't wait to get my IFR rating... I was lucky enough to be a "co pilot" (in quotes, I did tune the radios you know!) on a friends flight from CYTS to CYTZ.

Video en route:

Not as spectacular of a view as you got though.

Toronto Centre got us to descend below the clouds before we hit this weather front.. Sunny one minute, poring rain the next.

The Approach into Toronto City Centre is quite the sight..

[EDIT: Forgot to add the first link]

Nice!  You need to get a patch cord and audio recorder.  Would have been pretty neat to hear the ATC stuff while you were on the approach plus you would have the video stay within the forum scheme of ATC oriented content

Kinda fascinating to me to hear how other countries ATC instructions are issued

Oh yeah totally.. Eventually I'll have it all set up properly.. One of these days.

(I edited my original post to include a link to a video I forgot originally)

The ATC Comms/Procedures are pretty much exactly the same up here in Canada as they are down there in the States.
