"A JetBlue flight made an unscheduled landing at Logan Airport on Monday morning after an equipment issue and an unrelated lightning strike, according to a statement from the airline.

The plane, Flight 1731, landed safely in Boston at 9:44 a.m. after it left John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and was diverted from its route to Bermuda.

JetBlue said that it was a noncritical equipment issue and that the lighting strike occurred after the flight had been diverted.

"Maintenance crews are addressing the issue and an unrelated lightning strike that occurred while en route to Boston," a spokesperson for JetBlue said.

Passengers will be accommodated by another flight to Bermuda."
