The Beechcraft experienced a landing gear incident during the landing sequence to runway 10R at Hayward Executive Airport (KHWD), Hayward, California. The airplane sustained minor to moderate damage. Pleasingly the two occupants onboard were not injured.
Initially it seemed that the consequential runway closure would be of a very limited duration but in the event it took almost 4 hours to move the aircraft away and carry out a runway check. I have deleted the majority of the communications which were with vehicles involved in the recovery operations.
