ASQ5161 Emergency Landing at KSYR
« on: May 29, 2009, 08:32:25 PM »
ASQ5161 CYUL-KATL diverted to KSYR earlier this evening. Trying to track down the cause now. I've attached the associated unedited audio clip, contact starts about 1/2 through the clip with ACEY contacting approach as direct to KSYR.

Attached is an edited version. Some ground transmissions aren't picked up or are hard to hear due to host's location. However, you don't need them to understand what's going on. Includes first contact through taxi as well as a couple other aircraft that were involved.

A replacement aircraft was sent from ATL and arrived just after midnight. Then ASQ 5161 departed in the early morning hours to KATL. Still haven't been able to track down what exactly happened.

Replacement Aircraft, ASQ 9956

No audio of the diversion. On ZBW - MPV52 Sector (Burlington, VT) It goes to UCA09 (Utica 09), 123.87 at 22:11z  , where it slips into the ABYSS; a veritable black hole of  unmonitored frequencies.

Note: Edited version of audio disappearance into the ABYSS.
