Looking for Slow Full Route Clearance Broadcast
« on: June 20, 2008, 03:25:39 PM »
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has the slow full route clearance that was broadcast to a female pilot at either JFK or BOS?  From what I remember the pilot read back the clearance incorrectly and the controller issued it again, but in an obvious slow and sarcastic manner.  It was a pretty funny clip.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks man, I looked through all the pages during a slow day at work one day and couldn't find it.  I'll keep trying though.

Thanks Moto400ex, I finally found it with your help.  I appreciate how you guys are always willing to help someone out.  It was just as funny as I remembered it, even though it is pretty disrespectful to the pilot.  Thanks again man.

Reading your post reminded me that it would be slick if LiveATC could come up with a better way to organize and catalog audio clips posted to this board.  Personally I don't have ASP or other web-based SQL experience or I would offer my time to the site to brainstorm a better way (assuming Dave is amiable to the idea of revamping the clip organization).

In the past I, too, have struggled to locate a clip that I knew to be here somewhere.

Heh..

Not that the controller is trying to be disrespectful, but if our wonderful feed volunteer for KLAX happens to throw Clearance Delivery on there, you'll hear a certain controller give out very slow clearances to EVERYONE there, regardless of how well they get it down, English proficiency, or otherwise. It's easily able to see that they are doing it that way for those pilots from other countries where English isn't the primary language, but still. I've heard them take sometimes a little over a minute to eke out "Loop Four Departure, Dagget Transition, Kepec Two arrival, maintain tree thousand, departure frequency one two four point tree, squawk tree seven one one" (bet it took about 5 seconds for you to read that, and less than 10 to recite back in your mind, too! ;) ).

Yet you hafta wonder why in KLAX's ATIS they say "upon ATC clearance, readback only your callsign and transponder code unless you have a question"...

I added page for this...reverse time sorted for now since there is no great way to sort this stuff.  In the future I'll add the ability to sort and search.  That will work into the new site framework when it launches.

http://www.liveatc.net/recordings.php

This is also linked on the left-side navigation all over the site.

To download clips visitors still need to be registered users.

Very much appreciated, Dave.  An excellent start to a feature that hopefully be of great assistance to those who recall the clip but not where it is.  Thanks.

You are probably already thinking this, but some way for uploaders to tag the clip from a list of defined tags (emergency, humorous, procedural, weather-related, etc.) might be one way to catalog and ultimately offer search capability, too.
