BAW239 divert to Shannon
« on: May 23, 2011, 07:04:37 PM »
Watching Liveradar24 I saw BAW239 heading back from the Atlantic ocean towards Ireland, I tuned in to the Shannon feed, heard him say there was smoke in the cabin getting worse and asked the Shannon controller if there are airbridges available to get the pax off...

Waiting for the audio to be archived I can post allready some screenshots....

Saidfully the Shannon tower feed was shortly up as this situation happened, but went down again... :-o

Thanks! Super-fast work there. Saw it on flightradar24 just before it landed, and was evacuating by the time I got EINN on the audio.

Not the first smoke alert for BA239 either:
