Tower Communications Failure Nashville 8/7/13
« on: August 08, 2013, 04:59:41 PM »
Yesterday around noon Central time Nashville airport apparently experienced a complete failure of normal tower communications. I was casually listening when I realized the Tower controller was repeatedly checking in with flights asking, "How do you read me?" and stating that the Tower "had had a total communications failure and was operating with only one handheld". Does anyone have additional info on this situation? It was interesting to listen to ... and well handled, as it seems almost all "glitches" are with these expert and very professional controllers.

I see no audio attached, have you checked the archives?

Otherwise this topic should be in the listeners forum.... :|

I have never done that before but will see if I can figure it out. Apologies for not realizing I should not have posed question here without audio attached.

Everything must have a first time, but when you're not working the checklist........ Just kidding....
