Nieuport 11 incident at CYYJ
« on: October 14, 2014, 08:25:37 PM »
Not a great audio file as the radio kept switching between frequencies during the incident.  However, it's something that happened at Victoria, which is pretty rare (thankfully).   I've edited the file to only those involved in the incident.

From the CADORS...

UPDATE: TSB Report#A14P0168: A US-registered Nieuport 11 replica (Circa Reproductions Kit), suffered a partial engine power loss immediately after take-off from Victoria International Airport (CYYJ). The aircraft was unable to climb and did a low-level circuit to return for landing. The engine (a VW 1830 cc - Great Plains conversion) was found to have one spark plug with the electrode gap completely shut. The occurrence aircraft's engine was equipped with a single spark plug per cylinder.
