Sunday evening Dec. 14th was a busy time for controllers at PHL.  During that time they handled 3 emergencies.  The biggest emergency was a US Air Express CRJ-2 (AWI 3918) which was unable to deploy the left main landing gear.  That aircraft landed and the three crew members aboard all evacuated safely after the aircraft stopped.  Prior to this 2 other aircraft had declared emergencies due to low fuel and landed successfully.  I'm trying to edit down the archive now and will post it if I am able to do so.  Below is a link to a local TV station story about the incidents.

OK, here is the audio clip of the AWI3918 (Air Wisconsin) emergency landing at PHL.  This is my first try at putting a clip together so I hope it sounds ok.  Some of the transmissions are missed because the archive scans both PHL tower frequencies and the other channel was quite busy.  The vehicle called Airport 10 is an airport supervisor and F21 is the Philadelphia Fire Department duty officer.  The reference to UPS at about 3:10 into the clip refers to the UPS facility located adjacent to the runway.

Here is another audio clip from the 3 emergency night at PHL on 12/14/08.  This clip actually precedes the first one I uploaded (sorry about that!)

AAL 580 is the first low fuel emergency arrival (originally a DFW-EWR flight diverted to PHL).  The second low fuel emergency is AWE976 (SMF-PHL).  Clip also includes the low pass by AWI3918 to visually check the gear.
