Recorded in June 2002, a de Havilland Dash 8 belonging to Southern Australia Airlines (subsidiary of Qantas) is en-route from Mildura to Melbourne as "Southern 65" when fog begins to roll in at Melbourne Airport. After some holding to the north of Melbourne, ATC offer the crew the possibility of a diversion into the smaller GA Essendon airport, which despite being only four miles away has much better visibility. The crew accept the offer and are vectored onto the RWY26 ILS.
