Needed to get night current for an IFR flight next week.  Since I have not flown at night for quite some time, figure to give me an adjustment period as day transititions to night.

Video includes slow flight while waiting for the sun to set, watching the sunset from 3000 feet and two landings at KJAN.

My next video will have the remainder of my landings back at KMBO which I can append to this thread if anybody is interested. (no ATC COMS at KMBO since it's uncontrolled)

Easily done this time of year, especially in the northern hemisphere for those timezones back to standard time where the sun is setting around 4:30 pm.

It is almost as if we pilots need to seek out daylight currency, given the lack of daylight.

Post more videos.  I enjoy watching them.

Too funny, but so true!  Dark when we get up, just about dark coming home from work!

Glad you enjoy the videos.  Fun putting them together and "Monday nite" quarterback my own flights either by my own thoughts or other peoples comments.  I am always for getting to be a better pilot!

Video is a continuation of my night currency video.

This video captures one touch and go, one full stop landing and shut down.  Video includes uncontrolled airport communications.

Looking back at my log book it had been over 1 year (11/01.07) since I had done any night flying,

Good overall exercise for me landing on runways of different widths.

Sunset from 2000 feet

Last of my night currency videos.  Thought the ATC instructions at the very beginning and the end were quite fitting.  Other then the very beginning and very end, no ATC coms just some John Elton music.

Privileged view from our heights needless to say.
