Hello,

I was on UA 51 on Oct 13th when after an ontime departure out of EWR at about 20:35 Eastern, we did a U turn off Halifax and returned to EWR.

Met by emergency equipment (presumably due to an overweight landing?) Landing about 23:30 Eastern.

Don't suppose anyone caught any of this?

David
PS Replacement flight at about 01:30 Oct 14th failed to take off due to UA's computer meltdown and the flight was completed as UA2070 at 09:30 Oct 15th.

Checked the feeds and got this. The equipment would be a precaution because the captain declared an emergency due to the windshield.

oktalist,

superb job patching that together - thank you.  Very informative to know what is going on up front during these sorts of events.
