WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- One person is dead and another critically injured following a helicopter crash in John Prince Park near the Lantana Airport.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said the helicopter went down about 100 yards north of the airport at 10:28 a.m.

Trauma Hawk took one person to the hospital with critical injuries.

The victims have not been identified.

Authorities have not said what helicopter company the aircraft belongs to.

The FAA and NTSB will be a part of the investigation.

A spokeswoman for the FAA told CBS12 News the helicopter that crashed is a Robinson R22 helicopter.

Couldn't edit the audio at work, but from KPBI 1500Z-1530Z you can hear the Mayday being called out (unknown if it was the Pilot of the Helicopter, or another Pilot flying by)  The Mayday traffic is between the 25:50-26:08 mark.  I'm guessing all the other traffic was on the Unicomm Freq at Lantana Airport.
