Just what I have read in the news, sadly the pilot died, and this was more a "controled" crash as opposed to a landing. I doubt there will be ATC, since they were not on a busy channel.
Sad story that could have ended worse.

In my opinion, I bilieve it's so difficult to land an aircraft if you don't known anything about piloting.
Sure that he had an instruction from the controller and pilot, but I think he had a notion about how to fly.
I am a pilot, and if it really happen like the news said, they had luck.

Good that everything ended well!!
