Sunwing emergency landing CYOW
« on: March 23, 2013, 08:09:15 AM »
A Sunwing 737-800 made an emergency landing when some of the glycol based deicing fluid entered into the air intake of the APU and caused the cabin to fill with vapor, which appeared to the passengers as smoke, causing temporary concern (panic is too strong a word) among passengers and crew. The aircraft made an emergency landing at approximately 6:53am, one that some passengers referred to as fairly hard, likely due to excess fuel.  Has anyone heard of this occurring before? Also wondering if a fuel dump was made, but am thinking not given that the aircraft was back on the ground inside 20 minutes.
Anyone able to get audio from the tower/ground?
