MSP issues this morning
« on: September 02, 2005, 09:54:20 AM »
Hey All,

Looks like I had a rogue static broadcast that was keeping the MSP feed on a ground frequency.  It seems to have cleared up now.  I'll look at it after work, but the ultimate resolution will be to feed the ground freqs separate from the tower freqs.

Or I suppose I could possibly tweak the squelch...

Edit: I just heard a pilot talking about a stuck mic - problem solved, maybe?

That might be a good idea, because it would be easier to follow the action. Usually the tower is easier to RX then ground is, unless your next to the A/P.

I once witnessed a similar problem in Sao Paulo Int'l - Guarulhos (SBGR/GRU). A VASP plane, which was performing an engine test in a remote are of the airport blocked the ground channel for some 20+ minutes. The ground frequency was changed to a spare channel during this period but didn't avoid the ground controllers and other pilots to get pi*** off and complain about the careless mechanic who didn't notice the mess he caused.

Cheers all,
