Yeah, i was considering putting it in the attic, but the cable in it is rather small, it just about reaches from the landing into my bedroom, but i suppose if i either got a coaxial and BNC extension, or put the scanner in the attic aswell and had a large wire for the input to the pc.
wow, i cant believe your 20 miles from Dublin airport, and im rather close and i cant get it as good, but as you say there is no obsticles. Cork is in a valley, and the airport is on the top of the hill so..

Hi M50,
I see you have a Phillips D2999 HF. This was my first HF/SW set and I still have it covering the world of HF and for the cost it really was a good set to start with, great audio and easy to use. Just wish my JRC NRD 525 had as good a sound output.
I enjoyed listening to Dublin but must download some charts and maps so I can locate the areas mentioned.
