Audio quality and antenna suggestions

Good job Chad!   
      It looks very similar to the one I built, except I used grey PVC tubing
for the mast since it is outside.
     Reception from planes in the air should not be degraded much with the beam, so you should be pleased with the results.
     Yes, that RG-6  cable is 75 ohm and a PIA to work with, but it will do the job with a few db loss compared to 50 ohm coax.
     They never did cut the tail off my T-shirt when I soloed.  However I did get a certificate hand made from my instructor.  I guess I was too old to mess with.

So was I, but I insisted 


I just now locked out DSM approach from my scanner so we're not duplicating efforts. Plus it had a lot of noise on it. So my frequencies are now:

• 122.7 KAMW unicom - priority
• 123.0 KBNW unicom
• 122.9 KIKV unicom
• 126.0 KDSM Clearance delivery
• 121.5 Aviation Guard Frequency

Let me know if there are more freqs you suggest.

Hey Pat,

I think I'm going to remove the 126.0 KDSM Clearance delivery from my feed since you're already feeding it. Plus, it is pretty chatty, and without it I think the feed would better reflect the local area.

Let me know if this sounds like a poor idea.
