Anyone in the NY/NJ area know why there were 3 A-10's flying southward at low altitude over the Hudson toward the Statue of Liberty.

If they were at a low altitude flying down the Hudson my guess is that they were either VFR, or on an IFR cruise clearance.  I seriously doubt military IR training routes exist over the Hudson.

Man that'd be a cool sight though, I love the look of A-10s in formation.
