A good scanner
« on: February 14, 2012, 04:32:57 PM »
Hi all,

I'm from Winnipeg and I'd like to be able to pick up the CYWG tower when I'm out spotting. My first question is, is it legal to carry a scanner with you? And second question is will this scanner work? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Uniden-BC72XLT-HandHeld-Bearcat-Police-Radio-Scanner-/270827863635?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0e993e53

Many thanks

I have that one...works fine for me no problem. Just read the manual CAREFULLY so you know how to program it..takes a little getting used to. You can also get it here:

I'm quite sure it's legal and it's a lot of fun.  As noted, there's no need to spend more than $100 and, as noted,

they're a little tricky to program the frequencies that you enjoy.  Just keep the directions handy...
