Air France will be operating A380 service out of KJFK starting November 20th of this year. AF006/007 will service Paris <-> KJFK once daily. This is the only planned A380 service I know of at this time out of KJFK.

Emirates or one of the other ME airlines operated a "super" flight into JFK for a while. But I haven't heard it recently. Anybody know if and why they stopped?

I believe Emirates suspended the service due to low demand.  Anyone else want to fly to Dubai these days?

"Beginning November 23, the Airbus A380 will make two daily flights between New York and Paris, except on Wednesdays:

flight AF006 will depart Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 1:30 PM, arriving at JFK at 3:45 PM,
flight AF007 will depart JFK at 7:10 PM, arriving at Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 8:45 AM the next day."

Inaugural flights:
inaugural Airbus A380 Paris - New York (November 20) and New York - Paris (November 21) flights.

Virgin Atlantic gets its first A380 in 2013.

Their last announcement regarding A380 running LON-JFK was in 2005 I believe.

This just may be semantics here, but they are launching LON-JFK service? as in London City? If I remember correctly, nothing bigger than a E190 can land or depart there, due to the runway length and noise abatement. Could this be EGKK/LGW you're thinking of? They should be able to handle it, especially if VIR43 comes here to Vegas daily from there..

Sorry I was using LON as in 'any london airport' because I don't know which airport they intend to fly out of.

Virgin will be flying the A380 out of EGLL/Heathrow as Virgin have a major hub there, though EGKK/Gatwick can handle an A380 as was shown last August when a fire alarm went off in Heathrow tower causing diversions for Singapore's A380 service.

BA operate an A319 service from LCY to JFK via Shannon.

It was low demand. They moved the A380 over to the DXB - YYZ route and it flies in 3 or 4 times a week. Arrives YYZ late afternoon and departs in the evening around 22:45 I think.

A380 comes to YYZ Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Arrives at 340pm and departs at 940pm when i use to watch it come in. But now I see it parked WAY earlier than 340pm so I believe the arrival time as been changed...... beautiful plane to see land and take off close up!

Kind of off-subject, but my family and I were returning home from a cruise and flew out of KLAX this weekend, and saw a Qantas A380 there. Massive airplane.  cool

On another side note, I also saw John Travoltas' Qantas decorated B707 there as well! Awesome!  cool

EDIT: I have attached the pics of the A380 I took on takeoff roll...not the best pics, but at least I caught her!  Note the B747-400 In the baackground, also two additional airplanes in the hanger, B747s as well. grin

The pics are kind of grainy, but I think this one is VH-OQB (cn 015), an A380-842.
