EWR Freqs
« on: June 26, 2007, 02:08:56 PM »
Hi Folks,

I am planning on adding an additional freq to the current feed using a Left-Right Split.

The new Frequency will be 125.5 which appears (PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG) to be the final handoff before ewr tower 118.3.  I may also add 125.85 which has been requested and I can hear somewhat.

The two new ones will be on one side, and the existing (118.3 Priority/119.2 NYDEP) on the other.

Comments/Suggestions are welcomed.

ok...  125.85 is a departure frequency... Sorry about that...

I will try listening for 128.55 which has been requested as a 'Final Vector'.

125.85 IS ACTUALLY A BACKUP TO 120.85(SW DEP TRACON ). I think in my opinion the second feed should be of 128.55,120,15,and 125.5(final) . 125.5 is used for final in conjunction w/120.15 mostly. 128.55 is usually the final for runway 4 landings. Flow is as follows if landing south   128.55-120.15-125.5/120.15-125.5(west and north arrivals. Landing north is 128.55 to tower and sometimes 125.5 as final and 120.15-128.55 for west and north arrivals

I concur.  I'm hoping that the info on www.airnav.com for EWR is correct regarding the 4 final vector freqs based on the approach heading.   128.55 is vectors 090-240.   132.7 is vectors 331 - 089 (according to that site).  Do you think it's up to date?

AirNav displays the A/FD data from NACO.  Though it's supposed to be accurate, most of the time it is and sometimes it isn't.  I think it's stupid that they describe it in terms of vector headings since sectors of airspace are defined by much more than that (especially in the New York area), but maybe that's the easiest from a text-only standpoint.  This is the latest info I have on the EWR area sectors (may have changed):

Satellite D - 126.70
Departure - 119.20
MUGZY - 127.60
METRO - 132.80
Robbinsville - 128.55
North Arrival - 120.15
22 Final Vector - 125.62
11 Final Vector - 125.85

127.6/132.8 I believe are used for VFR traffic and Ewr Satellites. 125.625 I haven't heard for quite a while however I know 125.5 is final vector. 125.85 was backup for tracon sector 120.85. Last listened a week ago

Got everything all set for a L/R split.   I also, made an error before leaving the feed site.

The result is that the current feed is still mono, and contains only the approach freqs.

I apologize for any inconvenience.

I should have this fixed by tonight.
