What do you mean by military?

If I think I know what you mean, no, Air Force 1 does not use military ATC. They communicate with the FAA just as regular airliners do.

I think he was meaning do they use UHF or VHF. Sometimes (a rarity nowadays) some F15s in formation would do a touch and go off of 25L at LAS, and even if sitting there and watching it happen, if you didn't have a dual band scanner, you'd only hear the tower's side of things, as they would be talking to them on the UHF frequency (257.8, IIRC).

I don't think Air Force One or SAM29000 use UHF, but those at the facilities would know for sure.

They routinely use VHF, but probably have UHF capability as well.  That is only speculation on my part (about UHF).
