Air nav system
« on: November 23, 2007, 07:28:00 PM »
I was just wondering, does anyone have an Air Nav system or know anything about them.  I live in southern Ireland Cork to be exact and above me is the flightpaths from USA to EUROPE and vice versa.I have always wondered what airline they were, where they came from and where they are going.

I was considering buying this.....{or asking my good wife to get it as an xmas present},but im still not sure.

Any info would be grateful

I know the guy who feeds us the kuwait radar uses their systems, it seems pretty good! The only thing is that its expensive, I think $700?

I think i can give you some helpful advice from my experience...I live in Dublin and I wanted to track  the Overflying Atlantic traffic ..After a lot of trials I found  Area Track from fboweb the best. Their system combines flight tracking  with Google earth....and as a result I get most traffic in about 150 mile radius. Two things to know     one.    it is not free I pay a monthly subscription of about $15...  second   for good security reasons the is a 7 mins info delay.but you can work with that.  The system is worth trying as it does not involve a big cash sum up front and if you do not like what you get you can cancell your sub.  Email address is  www.fboweb.com...lets us know how you get on.  M50
