Issue with sound on EIDW feed
« on: December 27, 2012, 05:48:48 PM »
Hi All;

Not sure if this is the correct section to post this or not....

When listening to EIDW  (Dublin, Ireland) the sound I am receiving is really appalling.  Now, this may be my own fault, but I am not sure.

The sound is "clipping", as if a microphone is way too close to the transmission, with the result that most speech has a "screeching sound" coming from it

If anyone can let me know, if this is my own setup or the broadcaster I'd appreciate it

Thanks in Advance

Sounds the same on my setup using Winamp or VLC on my PC.  Sounds like clipping or overdriving the soundboard in his PC.

We'll be making some changes soon on EIDW but we'll get this resolved.

Dave

Not sure if you are aware or not, but the issue with the EIDW is still going on, its now gone from a "clipping" to a screeching .. its really very bad

Unfortunately it may be some time before the feed provider can get back to the setup.  He doesn't live at that location right now.

Sorry for the hassle, but it is what it is.

We hope to expand coverage in Dublin early this year.
