The links on the page above make quite interesting reading especially regarding the removal of Flight Information services at the airfield a few years ago. 

One of the links is actually about an unrelated incident involving another New Zealand chopper the following day and a really impressive bit of flying (25 minutes over mountainous country without a tail rotor in a Robinson R44).   I am sweating just thinking about it!
