can someone help me, i was listening to atc when it was 40-50 degrees and getting good signal know when its 20-30 degrees my signal is bad. any idea why this might be?

  I assume you are referring to listening to ATC on your scanner; not Live ATC.  What you describe is an interesting
problem. Usually I have found that went the temperature goes down, you get better reception, not worse.  You could
Google "VHF Propagation" and see all the articles on the subject. Perhaps you will find an answer there.
  I assume you have not changed the location of your antenna since you started to experience this problem. If its
easy to do, you could move your antenna around and see if anything improves. You should also check your antenna
connector(s) and cable to make sure there isn't a problem with them that just happened to co-incide with the
change in temperature.  Try substituting another coax antenna cable, if you have one, and see if that makes a difference.
  Hope you solve your problem or someone has the answer for you.

yes i do listen to atc on the scanner, im doing more research is it sounds like the more moisture in the air the better the signal gets, that would make sence since when its cold outside the air gets really dry
