anyway to get longer archive files?

I was wondering if it would be possible to get archive files that were longer than 30 minutes long? I use audacity to remove the silent parts, which whittles down a 30 minute clip to about 2-3 minutes for the airport I listen to. I could always write a script to download/join a bunch of files, but I wanted to check if there was a more direct way.

Doubtful.   I would suspect that the site founder decided on 30 minute archive files as a good compromise between file size and timely archive availability.   Longer archive files mean larger files and a longer duration between live and the archive's availability.

If you are adept at Audacity you should have no trouble joining together two archive clips.

No.  As pjr guessed, I decided a while ago that 30 minute chunks are the sweet spot.   Not everyone has broadband. 

In the future (not the near future) longer clips might be available, but that might involve a subscription since the extra bandwidth consumed would start to get excessive.  Out of curiosity, is this something you would be willing to pay a small membership fee for?

I probably would, but there would have to be other benefits too other than just longer archive clips! I could just download two clips and join them...
