Class D flight training/closed traffic
« on: November 04, 2013, 08:49:50 AM »
Just looking for recommendations for airport feeds with mainly GA flight training aircraft.  Just basic VFR tower stuff, departures, arrivals, closed traffic.

Thanks

There are many:

KASH (Nashua, NH)
KBED (Bedford, MA)
KDAB (Daytona Beach, FL)
KSGJ (St. Augustine, FL)
KLAF (Purdue)

If the local weather is good, I definitely recommend the Purdue University Airport (KLAF). (I run the feed :) ). Purdue training flights start at 7:30 AM ET and leave the airport every two hours. Many of them remain in the pattern, and it's not unusual to see 5-10 in the pattern at once. There's a large FBO on the field that does flight instruction and aircraft rental as well, so the airport is quite busy.

I'll second the motion for KLAF. Listened to it a couple weeks ago while driving from Indy to Chicago. Made me jealous of the guys who were flying... :-)
