No live feed to KMEM?
« on: April 17, 2010, 03:41:36 PM »
Hello everyone,
I am new to your forum and I have a question regarding some airports not having a live feed such as Memphis. This is ,as you all know, a major hub for FedEx and to former Northwest airlines. Does live feed depend on who wants to make it available by someone listening to the ARTCC serving that airport, or is this a restricted area, or is it available intermittently?.
Just curious... :?

From the FAQ

LiveATC.net is a web site and community designed to unite pilots, student pilots, flight instructors, airband communication enthusiasts, and real and virtual air traffic controllers.  Its target audience is anyone who can learn from or who just enjoys listening to live aviation communications. The community is fueled by volunteers who live within radio range of airports and who use spare radio and computer equipment to relay airband transmissions into the LiveATC.net audio network.

LiveATC.net was founded by Dave Pascoe, a pilot and ham radio operator who has been an avid ATC listener for many years.

I live in the area and would love to provide a feed but I'm too far to get any good quality audio, about 24 mile as the crow flies.  It'd be nice if we had one too, the FedEx operation here is really something to listen to.
