Atlantic HF (NAT) US Missing planes

Listening to Atlantic Hf this morning betwenn 930-10 est and heard Gander calling N135BC a privet jet and coa 111, could not find coa 111 on flightAware and only info on owner of N135BC. My question is that is it common to have planes come up missing on HF freq, or is this an common event.
