Need help setting up antennas
« on: November 08, 2004, 03:58:22 AM »
Hi all,

I am looking at purchasing a 30 meter wind up tower, and if i get it wanted to get 4 FM radio antennas and set them up on the tower directed North, East, South and West.  Is this a good idea?  And if i did it would i have to space them apart at a certain distance?

Cheers,
Michael

Is this for listening to airband or the FM broadcast radio band?

Gday mate,
Yeah it is for air band.  Not getting the 30 meter tower now i am going to set up a 6 meter tower this weekend.  But would it be good to set the FM antennas up pointing N E S W.  Or would i need airband antennas?

Use airband antennas. Either that, or directional log-periodic scanner antennas covering the right frequency range.  It all depends on what else you would like to monitor besides airband.

I've had good success with these:

Not sure how easy it is to get these in Australia, but surely there is some equivalent down there.
